Quade Cooper has reportedly rejected a second year with French club Toulon and will return to Australia where a link with the Queensland Reds is strongly fancied.

French sports newspaper L’Equipe reported overnight that Cooper had opted out of staying at the heavyweight French club next season.

Cooper signed a big-money two-year deal last year but the contract was always framed with an option clause after the initial season.

If Cooper is on the move back to Australia it will bring a smile to the face of Wallabies coach Michael Cheika, who has actively tried to lure Cooper home.
